What is the difference between Paronyms and Homonyms? Understand with examples.

It have been seen oftenly that their is lot of confusion between Paronyms and Homonyms. So if are you having the same confusion then you are on the right place.

So firstly understand the definition...

1. Paronyms:- The words which are slightly similar in form/derivation/spelling but different in meaning are Paronyms.

 Ex:- 1. Alternate - (क्रम से होना / by turns) We have a science class on every alternate day.

Alternative - (वैकल्पिक / one of the two choices) Audiobooks are an interesting alternative to reading.

On the other hand..

2. Homonyms:- The words which are similar in sound or pronunciation but different in meaning are Homonyms. They are also called Homophones.

Ex:- 1. Antique - (पुराना / of ancient times) There are many antique pieces in the museum.

Antic - (अजीब / odd / tricks) Antics of the juggler regaled the children.
